The Ootsider

Each jacket from The Ootsider has a special purpose: its profits go towards creating more garments for people experiencing homelessness. Every piece is part of a project that aims to give visibility and support to those who need it most, turning fashion into a tool for solidarity.

I chose to collaborate with them because I wanted my photography to tell stories with meaning, showing how a project can combine design and real social impact. For me, capturing these jackets is about reflecting the purpose and hope behind each piece, and sharing it with those who value creativity with a conscience.

In this latest series, the focus shifts to the dialogue between the garment and the city itself. By integrating the jackets into Edinburgh’s iconic architectural landscape, I’ve sought to highlight the synergy between form, function, and environment.

The colour palettes of these new pieces have been captured in conversation with the city’s historic stone and moody, atmospheric streets. This intentional interplay shows that while these jackets are built for the resilience of the outdoors, they are deeply rooted in the urban fabric. It is an exploration of how design can harmonise with its surroundings, proving that purposeful fashion belongs exactly where the stories of the city are told.
